A Full Day Seminar on “Opening The Gates To Mind Mapping”
On Thursday 28th January 2010 IEEE Indonesia Section organized a full day seminar on “Opening The Gates To Mind Mindmapping” at Telkom R & D and Training Center, Bandung, Indonesia. This event sponsored by Telkom. Mr. Ari Wibowo, IEE Communications Society Indonesia Chapter Secretary, briefed the gathering about the IEEE and its benefits. He introduced speaker Dr. Suryadiputra Liawatimena.
A total of 14 participants including a faculty member and researchers attended the event.

Opening The Gates To MindMap
Dr. Suryadiputra Liawatimena gave a breadth and depth talk on how to utilize whole brain hemisphere to make idea become reality in structured way, have clear target and synergize with others. He started with the limitation of human thinking and how to overcome it. He further described the differences between mind map and concept map, mind map laws, and how to create them. He gave some examples on various mind map usages in daily life from 5 years old, decision making process, knowledge management, PhD dissertation to NASA Mars Exploration. He guided participants to use MindJet MindManager, the leading computer based mind map program, as the tool from idea to become reality, brainstorming, how to export the mind map into Microsoft Word document, Microsoft Powerpoint presentation, synchronize with Microsoft Project, generate PDF file, picture format (JPG, GIF), web pages, and how to speed up the research process.
Overall the seminar was highly interactive and participants took a lot out of this seminar. Moreover, audience had a rare opportunity to hear Dr. Suryadiputra Liawatimena, a renowned professional in the field of Mind Map since 1991.
